Tutorial: Introduction to Python with a focus on machine learning and text mining methods

In this tutorial, participants get acquainted with selected text mining methods often used in applied economics.  By the end of the course, you will know how to obtain and pre-process the text data, which methods are used to perform sentiment analysis and how topic models can be estimated with Python.

The tutorial takes place via ZOOM, you will need a laptop to participate in the course. Prior to the course please install Anaconda (https://www.anaconda.com/products/individual – choose the Python 3.7 or higher version, and the appropriate 64/32-bit installer). No prior knowledge of Python is required.
